Isle of Reveries NPCs and Side Characters
Named pilgrims, jokes, and achievement quests — without invented bios.
Isle of Reveries fills its screens with anthropomorphic travelers. Some are caravan regulars. Some become township residents after you rescue them. This page lists names we can pin to public sources: the Steam demo, Kickstarter copy, playtest videos, and the Xbox achievement list. If a name is not here, we have not seen it in those places.
Talk to everyone. Lief’s notebook exists to store these people. Skipping dialogue in a game this small is how you miss a Perfect Ending beat.
Confirmed from achievements
Xbox published 27 achievements. Several are character errands:
- Mr. Akedo — “Bring Mr. Akedo Happiness.” Treat as a township or overworld mood quest, not as a boss.
- Talking Trees — “Meet all the Talking Trees.” Exploration checklist; walk biomes, do not assume they sit in one grove.
- Vangie — “Scare Vangie.” A prank or stealth beat. We will not prescribe a method before launch.
- Kiwi — “Make Kiwi Laugh.” A charm quest. Demo chatter already treats Kiwi as a personality, not a shop.
- Oatmeal — two-way blade test: “Faked Blade” (disappoint Oatmeal) and “Fabled Blade” (impress Oatmeal). Do not throw the wrong sword at this character if you care about completion.
- Lost Lovers — “Reunite Lost Lovers.” Classic adventure-game errand.
- Father and Daughter — “Reunite a Father and Daughter.”
- Quaritz and Bantern — “Rescue Quaritz and Bantern.” A paired rescue, likely dungeon- or cave-gated.
These sit on the checklist as trackers. This page is the who; that page is the whether.
Caravan and demo faces
The demo opening puts you with a hodgepodge caravan. Lines about Lief hooting in sleep and refusing to share a wish are the social tutorial. You will not get a full yearbook in two hours. You will get the habit: NPCs remember you.
Playtest videos name places that probably contain more residents: Village of Spirits, Crock’s Cave, ruins in the mist. A talking statue puzzle (bird statues) may be environmental rather than a named friend. If a statue talks, notebook it anyway.
How NPCs connect to systems
- Township buildings appear when someone has a reason to live there. Rescue first, house second.
- Key items stay useful for NPC puzzles. A lantern for a dark shop, a Clawncher for a stuck cart — that is why tools are not junk after Pilgrim’s Sanctum.
- Copy-spawn can be an NPC joke. If a resident wants two of something, you know the answer.
Spoiler policy
We do not describe who dies, who is a villain, or what the wish “should” be. Achievement names already hint at tone (scare, laugh, disappoint). That is enough. After September 4, 2026 this page can grow with locations and requirements. Until then, use it as a name sheet while you play the demo.
If two names collide in your memory — Kiwi versus Vangie, Oatmeal versus Akedo — write them on paper the first time the notebook UI feels cramped. Handheld adventures hide completion in conversation, not in a quest log with a waypoint. After September 4, 2026 we can attach rooms to these names. Until then, treat every talking tree and every blade comment as a pin on a map you have not unfolded yet.

Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers for pilgrims heading to the isle.
Who are the named NPCs in Isle of Reveries?
Public achievements name Mr. Akedo, Vangie, Kiwi, Oatmeal, Quaritz, Bantern, talking trees, lost lovers, and a father-daughter pair.
Do NPCs move into the township?
Yes. Official store text says characters Lief saves move in with new quests. See the township guide.
Can I miss character quests?
Yes. Use Lief's notebook and our checklist if you want the named errands.
Is Oatmeal a boss?
Achievements describe impressing or disappointing Oatmeal with a blade. That reads as an NPC test, not a dungeon boss.
