Isle of Reveries Twilit Thicket Gameplay Notes

A later-area woods dungeon from official footage — not a spoiler map.

Twilit Thicket

Twilit Thicket is the most generously filmed dungeon in Isle of Reveries that is not the Steam demo. desertcucco posted a 19-minute gameplay video under that title. It is long enough to study movement, combat, and how screens connect, and short enough that it is not a retail walkthrough. This page is a field notebook for that clip. Full temple list: dungeons guide.

The game still launches September 4, 2026. Twilit Thicket is not in the public demo. The demo stops after Pilgrim’s Sanctum and Fermata. If you came here hoping to grind the thicket this weekend, play the demo instead, then start a new file at launch. Demo saves do not transfer.

What the name tells you

Twilight plus thicket is a woods thesis: limited sight lines, repeating tiles, and the temptation to run in circles. Playtesters have already compared the vibe to a handheld Lost Woods. Official marketing never promises a mini-map that holds your hand. Electric Airship’s feature list says the world does not. Walk methodically. Look for unique tiles, lantern-friendly dark pockets, and copyable objects you already know from Sanctum — blocks, torches, mushrooms, arrow-shooters.

Do not invent a compass item because the name sounds like a maze. If a later key item solves the thicket, it will be named in-game, not here.

How to watch the 19-minute clip

The video sits in the middle of this article. Watch it as a habit tape, not as a spoiler script:

  • Note how often Lief jumps. The dedicated jump is a shoulder input so HUD slots stay on tools. See how to play.
  • Note when the sword is the wrong answer. Some enemies block or reflect steel. desertcucco’s June 2026 post said Lief must find the right tool to stun, and called out the Power Pogo for timed dodges and stuns. Details: combat.
  • Note copy usage. If a room looks empty, the missing prop is probably one screen back. That is the same grammar as Sanctum. Primer: copy-spawn.
  • Note the HUD. Hearts left, four face-button slots right. Jump is not a fifth toy in that row.

Pause on screens that look like dead ends. Ask: is this a lantern lock, a weight lock, a copy lock, or a combat gate? The copy objects list is the cheat sheet for the first three.

Combat in the trees

Thicket enemies have more room to approach than a Sanctum corridor. That makes the short i-frames matter. Create space with jump, then swipe. If a foe tanks the sword, stop mashing: swap to the tool the room is teaching, or copy a shooter you already own. Spike-and-slingshot combos appear in official microclips; if you see a trap that looks stealable, assume it is part of the advanced tools conversation.

Lief still cannot swim. Pools in a twilight wood are fences. Do not burn a minute hopping at the shoreline.

Why this dungeon is on the wiki now

Most later temples exist as a name plus a 30-second clip. Twilit Thicket exists as a long take. That is useful the week before launch: you can learn the feel of a later biome without a fake 100% route. Xbox lists other complete-the-temple achievements (Overgrown Shrine, Wyrm’s Remains, Timelocked Villa, Snowcloaked Mine, Well of Ordeals). Those get short notes on the dungeons hub. This page stays thicket-specific so the 19-minute video has a home that is not a generic how-to.

After you finish watching

  1. Finish the demo walkthrough if you have not.
  2. Keep key items assigned; later woods rooms will still want lantern and copy.
  3. Plan township visits between temples: township.
  4. On September 4, start a new file. Use the in-game map. If the thicket is locked behind a key item, that is the game talking, not a wiki omission.

We will add switch coordinates and a boss name when they are public. Until then, the honest guide is: watch the official video, copy like you learned in Sanctum, and do not trust a thumbnail that claims “Twilit Thicket 100%” five days before the game exists.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers for pilgrims heading to the isle.

Is Twilit Thicket in the Isle of Reveries demo?

No. The demo is opening, Pilgrim's Sanctum, and Fermata. The thicket is later-area official footage.

How long is the official Twilit Thicket video?

About 19 minutes on the Isle of Reveries YouTube channel. It is embedded on this page.

Does the thicket have a published boss name?

Not in the sources we used. Fermata is the named demo boss. Do not invent a thicket boss.

What should I learn from the clip?

Jump habits, when the sword fails, and copy-from-the-previous-screen. Then read combat and copy-spawn.
